myEZvoice is made by EZ Voice LLC. These are the terms for using the app, the website and the text messages the app sends. They are written to be read, not skimmed past. Using the app means you agree to them. How we handle information is on the Privacy Policy.

What myEZvoice is, and is not

myEZvoice helps someone who is nonverbal or minimally verbal say what they need by tapping pictures and phrases. It is a communication tool. It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose or treat anything, and it does not replace 911 or any emergency service. A Family Alert sent from the app goes to the family members the parent chose; it does not reach police, fire or medical services.

Who sets it up, and what they take on

A parent, guardian or caregiver sets the app up and keeps the family password. The people who can be texted, and who receive Family Alerts, are the people that adult adds in Settings. By adding a person's mobile number you confirm that the person has agreed to receive texts from the app, as described in the SMS terms below. You are responsible for keeping the family password private, for the numbers you enter, and for the words you add to the app for the child to say.

SMS terms

Program. myEZvoice can send a short text on the child's behalf to a family member or caregiver the parent added ("From Sam: I love you"), and a Family Alert with the child's location to the people the parent chose to receive alerts. Texts are sent by EZ Voice LLC from a single phone number. There are no marketing messages.

Consent. Nobody signs up for these texts on a website. The parent or guardian asks each person first and enters their number only after they say yes. The words the parent says are on the Privacy Policy.

Frequency. A text is sent only when the child taps a phrase or the Family Alert button. Most families send a handful a month. Message frequency varies.

Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier's standard rates for text messages apply to texts you receive from the app.

Stopping and help. Reply STOP to any text to stop all texts from this number, including Family Alerts. Reply START to receive them again. Reply HELP for help, or contact us through the support page.

Replies. The texts come from the app's number, not from a person, so a reply is not read by the child. To answer them, use the app or call the family.

Carriers. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on the carrier and on the receiving phone being on and in range.

Subscriptions

The core of myEZvoice is free. Some features, such as texting through the app and the natural voice, are part of a paid subscription bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Those stores handle the purchase, renewal, cancellation and any refund under their own terms; EZ Voice LLC does not see your payment details. The Family Alert never requires a subscription.

Your content and your family's information

The words, pictures and people you add to the app are yours. Family Sync and backups exist so a family does not lose them; they are guarded by the family password and described in the Privacy Policy. You agree not to use the app to send messages to anyone who has not agreed to receive them, or for anything unlawful.

What we promise, and what we cannot

We work to keep the app running and the texts going, and we say so plainly on the screen when a text does not go. We cannot promise that the app, the network, the carriers or a phone will always work. The app is provided as it is, and to the extent the law allows, EZ Voice LLC is not liable for a message that is delayed or not delivered, or for loss that follows from relying on the app in an emergency. Keep a second way to reach help.

Changes, law and contact
